Home/Antelope Valley/Solar Panel Cleaning
Palmdale, Lancaster and the Antelope Valley, by requestSolar Panel Cleaning in Palmdale and Lancaster
$7 a panel, purified water, nobody walks on your array. On a route day, paired with windows or on a bigger array to meet the $249 minimum.
Rooftop solar is everywhere in the Antelope Valley, and the same two things that make it good solar country make the panels dirty: almost no rain, and wind that carries dust off the dry lake beds and the open desert east of Lake Los Angeles. A film builds that a storm never rinses, and the number in your solar app drifts down a little more each month. A purified water wash takes the film back off.

Window cleaning $149 / $249
The base price covers 10 to 12 windows on a single story or 18 to 20 on a two story. Past that it's more glass, more screens and more tracks to do right, so it's a flat $39 more, single or two story.
One flat $49 for every window inside the house, with the tracks vacuumed and wiped dry. Most companies charge by the window for inside work. We're already there with the water and the tools, so doing the inside costs you far less than a separate visit.
Big custom homes vary a lot. Extra panes and screens are counted on site or from a satellite view, and inside and out can run $499 to $599 on some homes. You get the exact price from Tony before anything starts, so there are no surprises on the day.
What you get. More light in every room, a clear view, screens and tracks that slide the way they should, and glass that lasts because hard water never gets the chance to etch it.
Why now. Dust and sprinkler overspray build up fast up here. A cleaning every 3 to 6 months keeps hard water from setting into the glass.
Pigeon proofing $450+
Cheaper crews screw or bolt mesh into the panel frame or the roof. Every hole is a spot for water and a reason for a solar company to deny a warranty claim. Our clips grip the inner lip of the frame, hold in High Desert wind, and come off clean if a panel ever needs service.
Pick one so the price is right. A two story home adds $125.
$450 covers up to 12 panels. Each panel past that means more mesh, more clips, more cleanout under the array and one more panel to wash, so it's $50 a panel. Set your count in the panel box below.
2 to 3 spinners come free. A spinner's flash covers the side of the roof it faces, and a ridge blocks it, so bigger roofs or roofs with birds on both sides usually need one more. Tap "See what the spinners do" to watch it in 3D.
What you get. Birds out from under the panels, nests and droppings hauled away and the area sanitized so the smell goes too, panels washed, mesh clipped to the frame so nothing voids your panel warranty, and a lifetime workmanship warranty on the install, in writing.
Why now. Nests only get bigger. The longer the birds stay, the more there is to clean out, and the more droppings sit on the roof and the wiring.
Solar panel cleaning $7 a panel
What you get. Clean panels, and if we notice anything visible while we're up there, like a cracked panel or birds moving in, we point it out. $7 a panel, dried spot free.
Why now. There's almost no rain up here to rinse panels, so the dust stacks up and your output drops a little more every month.
Window screen repair per screen
The same class of mesh your builder used, installed and tensioned right. Clearest view and good airflow. Fine for shaded windows.
Heavy vinyl coated polyester, UV and weather resistant, made for outdoor sun. Holds up to desert sun, wind and pets better than standard fiberglass.
When a frame is bent, loose or missing corners, new mesh won't sit tight in it. We rebuild the frame to fit your window with new corners and clips, so the screen snaps in and stays. $10 a screen, with either mesh.
What you get. Air in and bugs out, a clearer view from inside, screens that pop in and out easily, and a 2 year warranty on the mesh.
Why now. UV runs about nine months a year up here. Builder mesh goes brittle, then the wind finishes it off.
Hard water removal from $12 a pane
Hard water is minerals bonded to the glass, so each pane is treated and polished by hand, pane by pane. We test one pane free first so you see the result before you decide on the rest.

How to tell it's time
- Windows. Spots when the sun hits the glass, screens that look gray, or more than 6 months since the last clean.
- Solar panels. No wash in the last 6 months, or a sunny day in your solar app reading lower than it used to.
- Pigeons. Birds on the roof, droppings on the tile or driveway, cooing under the panels, or a sharp ammonia smell in the heat. They don't leave on their own.
- Screens. Tears, holes, mesh that bows out of the frame or crumbles when you press it.

How we clean your panels
- Purified deionized water and a soft brush on a water fed pole.
- Nobody walks on your panels. The pole reaches every row.
- Dries spot free, with no mineral film left blocking light.
- Visible issues pointed out. A twenty panel home is usually $140 to $160.
Purified water, a soft brush and a pole
Tap water dries into the same spots you see on a shower door, so we carry our own purified water and feed it up a pole to a soft brush. The brush lifts the dust, the pure water rinses it, and the panels dry with nothing left behind. Nobody walks on the modules. If we notice anything visible while we are up there, like a cracked panel, lifted flashing or the first signs of birds, you hear about it before we leave.
What we expect to see here
New tract solar
Lancaster has required solar on new homes since 2014, so the newer tracts carry builder arrays, often split over two roof faces. Two sections is still one wash.
Bigger retrofit arrays
Homes that added a bigger system later, 30 panels and up. A 36 panel array is $252, which meets the Antelope Valley minimum by itself.
Dust and wind
The west side gets the wind off the hills, the east side gets the dry lake dust. Either way the film is heavier than down the hill, and twice a year is the schedule that keeps up with it.
What solar cleaning costs in the Antelope Valley
$7 a panel, the same as everywhere we work, with no trip fee. A 20 panel array is $140 and a 36 panel array is $252. Our Antelope Valley minimum is $249 a visit, so a smaller array usually pairs with a window cleaning ($149 single story, $249 two story) or a few screens on the same stop, and a bigger array stands on its own. Set your panel count above and the ticket tells you where you land.
If you want it kept up, the twice a year plan takes 15% off each visit and the every 3 months plan 25%, and Tony pairs the return visits with his Antelope Valley route days. Book on our website and the first visit is 10% off.
If something is living under the panels
Droppings on the panels, feathers at the edge or cooing in the morning means the array needs more than a wash. Pigeon proofing is $450 for up to 12 panels and includes the cleanout, the mesh and the wash, so if we find birds during a solar visit you hear about it with a firm price before anything else happens. The pigeon proofing page for Palmdale and Lancaster has the whole job laid out.
Palmdale and Lancaster solar cleaning questions
How much is solar panel cleaning in Palmdale or Lancaster?
$7 a panel with purified water, no trip fee. A 20 panel array is $140, a 36 panel array is $252. Visits this far out have a $249 minimum, so a smaller array pairs with a window cleaning or screens on the same stop.
Can you make a small array worth the trip?
Usually, by pairing it. A 20 panel wash plus a single story window cleaning is $289, which clears the minimum, and both get done on one stop. Tony reviews every Antelope Valley request and tells you plainly what works.
Do you walk on the panels?
No. The brush is on a pole, the water is purified and fed up the pole, and the work is done from the roof edge or a ladder. Walking on modules is how microcracks happen.
Is my requested day confirmed when I send the quote?
No. It is a request. Tony groups Antelope Valley visits onto route days and texts you back with the day that works. Nothing is on the calendar until he confirms it with you.
Have you worked in Palmdale or Lancaster before?
Not yet, and we say so. Our customers so far are in the High Desert and the Inland Empire, and the photos on this page are from those jobs. The Antelope Valley is the next valley over from Phelan, and the first homes there get the same work, the same prices and the same written warranties as everyone else.
