What you get. More light in every room, a clear view, screens and tracks that slide the way they should, and glass that lasts because hard water never gets the chance to etch it.

Why now. Dust and sprinkler overspray build up fast up here. A cleaning every 3 to 6 months keeps hard water from setting into the glass.

    How to tell it's time
    • Windows. Spots when the sun hits the glass, screens that look gray, or more than 6 months since the last clean.
    • Solar panels. No wash in the last 6 months, or a sunny day in your solar app reading lower than it used to.
    • Pigeons. Birds on the roof, droppings on the tile or driveway, cooing under the panels, or a sharp ammonia smell in the heat. They don't leave on their own.
    • Screens. Tears, holes, mesh that bows out of the frame or crumbles when you press it.

    Adelanto

New tracts, builder-grade everything, and dry lake dust

Adelanto has been going up fast, and most of what we service here is newer construction. That sounds like it should mean less work. It does not, it just means different work.

New tract homes come with builder-grade screens, and builder-grade mesh is thin material chosen on cost. It looks fine at first and then starts going chalky and splitting at the corners. We re-mesh a lot of houses out here that are barely five years old.

Almost all of this construction went up with solar as standard, which means a high share of the homes here have panels. The arrays are new, they are clean-looking from the ground, and a good number of them already have birds underneath.

Then there is El Mirage. The dry lake bed puts fine alkaline dust in the air, and off-road traffic keeps it there. It settles on panel glass in a film that is genuinely harder to remove than ordinary road dust, and it packs into window tracks.

    Neighborhoods

    Adelanto areas we work in

Newer and older sides of town need different things. Here is roughly how it splits.

    El Mirage

Dry lake dust and off-road traffic keep fine alkaline grit in the air. Panels and tracks need attention more often here than anywhere else in town.

    Mojave Heights

Mix of single-family and manufactured homes. Screens and tracks are the bread and butter out here.

    Koala Road area

Newer single-family construction on paved streets. Builder-grade screens reaching the end of their life at about the same time across whole blocks.

    Desoto corridor

Established side of Adelanto with older housing stock and windows that have never been professionally cleaned.

    Newer tracts off Rancho Road

High solar density and a lot of first-time homeowners who did not know panels needed washing at all.

    FAQ

    Adelanto questions

My house is only a few years old. Why are the screens already going?

Because builders fit the cheapest mesh that passes inspection. It is thin, it has no UV package worth mentioning, and out here it starts going chalky after a few summers. Re-meshing with all-weather material is the fix and you keep the frames you already have.

Do new solar panels really need cleaning?

Yes, and sooner in Adelanto than most places. El Mirage dust is fine and alkaline and it bonds to the glass. We barely get rain to rinse it, so output drifts down and nothing tells you unless you check the inverter app.

How much is pigeon proofing on a newer Adelanto home?

From $450. Newer arrays are usually one clean plane, which keeps them at the lower end. If the birds have been there a couple of years the cleanup labor is what moves the number, not the mesh.

Do you cover El Mirage or just the city?

We cover both. El Mirage is a regular stop, though we group those jobs onto the same day where we can.
